WEEKLY RUNS & WALKS
Join us every Sunday at Akau Tangi Sports Centre, Kilbirnie
We meet every Sunday morning upstairs at the Akau Tangi Sports Centre (formerly known as the ASB Centre) in Kilbirnie at 8:00 AM. After a short introduction by the pack leaders, we go out on walks or runs for up to 2 hours.
Step One: Choose Your Group
Walkers
There are 1-2 walking groups that cater for all levels of fitness, age, and speed. The group enjoys walking in many different areas of Wellington, keeping up a steady but manageable pace for all.
Runners
There are usually 2-3 different running groups that cater for all levels of fitness, age, and speed, with distances ranging from 5-15km. It’s a good idea to start with whatever you are comfortable with and build up gradually. So if you cannot talk, chatter, and gossip while exercising, you are in the wrong group.
Step Two: Go Explore Wellington
Pack running and walking is a great way of discovering all that Wellington has to offer. There’s no city in the world that can give you such a variety of running and walking tracks so close to the city centre. Every week’s route is different, but you can expect to enjoy the Southern Walkway, Eastern Walkway, the Miramar Peninsular, Mt Victoria walking tracks, around Zealandia, and many more!
Step Three: Enjoy a Coffee
Each week, the packs will meet up after their run or walk and visit a coffee shop near to Akau Tangi. We value community and getting to know each other over a beverage of choice. This is also a great time to plan challenges outside of Wellington. Learn more on our Events page.
