Sunday runs & walks – Akau Tangi Sports Centre, Kilbirnie

We meet every Sunday morning upstairs at the Akau Tangi Sports Centre (formerly known as the ASB centre) in Kilbirnie at 8.00am and after a short introduction by the pack leaders go out on walks or runs for up to 2 hours.

There are usually 2-3 different running groups and 3 walking groups that cater for all levels of fitness, age, and speed. The Sunday run is aimed to be a slower run or walk mostly in the range of 5-15km, depending on your preference. It is a good idea to start with whatever you are comfortable with, and build up gradually. So if you cannot talk, chatter, and gossip while exercising, you are in the wrong group.

It’s a good idea to let others know how long you want to run for, as it’s best to start off with what’s comfortable for you and just gradually build up.
